Walsh called the Bouchard suspension a "shameful farce," referred to the hearings as "kangaroo courts" and called for a neutral third party to handle supplemental discipline. Walsh's missive is part of two larger issues: league-wide reaction to Shanahan's hammer and the NHLPA's desire to attack the suspension/appeal process. Then, he blasted Shanahan for slapping Pierre Marc-Bouchard with a two-game suspension. Bouchard's suspension is a small piece of this story, though.
