just never buy used skates. The only thing I wouldn’t go cheap on a good pair of skates. skates are the most important. Look for places that sell used gear, in alot of case it’s very good stuff, but alot cheaper, get it washed if they haven’t done so already though. alot of people think they want to play hockey untill they realize how hard it is. you can get used gear for around 100 bucks. go to your local hockey store and see if they have a starters pack. Stick with wooden sticks, they break less often and are alot cheaper to replace than composite. you might just want to buy used stuff....
